Usage

Usage

Energy-Absorbing Buffer Bed — a heavy-duty buffer bed with spring or damped elements between the bed and the structure, giving two-stage energy absorption for extreme impact. It handles very high drop heights and oversized, sharp lumps that would overwhelm a standard buffer bed, protecting the belt and frame at primary-crusher discharge and large loading terminals.

Operating conditions

Operating conditions

Working temperatureAmbient range (-20 °C to +40 °C); UHMW-PE and PU impact bars rated about -40 °C to +80 °C.
Dusty environmentSuitable — UHMW-PE and rubber impact bars resist dust and fines in the loading zone
Moisture & waterSuitable — UHMW-PE and rubber bars are unaffected by water; coated steel frames for wet duty
Corrosive environmentPowder-coated for ordinary acid or alkali · Galvanized for coastal and semi-outdoor · Stainless for high-salinity and high-humidity sites
CertificationMA coal-mine safety certified versions available — confirm the certified SKUs for your project
Outdoor useSuitable — coated and stainless options for coastal and weathering service

Technical overview

Impact beds and buffer bars absorb the shock of material falling onto the belt at loading points. HBXM bars use a UHMW top layer over energy-absorbing rubber to protect the belt, seal and idlers from impact damage.

Why use an impact bed at the loading zone?

It spreads the impact load across a wide support so the belt is not pinched between lumps and idlers, preventing premature belt and idler failure.

What is the difference between an impact bar and an impact bed?

An impact bar is a single replaceable segment; an impact bed is a full-width frame of joined bars that supports the whole loading zone.

What is the UHMW layer for?

UHMW has very low friction so the belt slides smoothly over the bar instead of dragging, which reduces wear and power draw.

How long do buffer bars last?

Service life depends on tonnage and lump size; in typical mining duty the UHMW surface runs for many months before bar replacement.
