Pillow-Block (Vertical) Bearing Housing — the mounted housing that carries a shaft bearing on a drive, bend or take-up pulley, bolted to the structure. (Note: this is the pulley-shaft bearing seat, not the idler TK seal.) It holds the shaft true under radial and axial load and is the interface between rotating and fixed parts.

TK is the common CIS and mining pattern; DTII is the Chinese national belt-conveyor standard. Choose the pattern your idler was built to.

What is a pillow block bearing?
A pillow block bearing is a bearing set in a cast or stamped housing that bolts to a frame. In belt conveyors the same stamped housing (TK or DTII pattern) seals the idler bearing inside the roll.
What is the difference between a pillow block and a flanged bearing?
A pillow block mounts through bolt holes in its base to a flat surface; a flanged bearing mounts through its round flange to a face. Choose based on your frame geometry and the direction of the load.

What is the difference between a pillow block bearing and a pillow bearing?
Nothing — they are the same part. Pillow bearing is the older, shorter name for a block bearing: a bearing carried in a housing that bolts down to a flat surface with the shaft running horizontally. HBXM supplies it as a matched housing-and-bearing set, not as loose parts.
Do you supply the housing with the bearing already fitted?
Yes. We can ship the housing with the bearing pressed in and the seal in place, so the unit goes straight onto the shaft. Send the shaft diameter, the radial load and the duty and we will confirm the fit and the seal type.
Which seal is fitted as standard?
Labyrinth, for dry and dusty duty — it runs with low drag and lasts longer. Contact (rubber lip) seals are fitted where washdown or flooding is real, accepting the extra friction to keep water out of the grease.
