Cage (Slag-Discharge) Pulley — a perforated, cage- or spiral-barrel pulley that lets fine material and slag fall through its gaps instead of wrapping the pulley. Used where the burden carries a lot of pass-through fines, it keeps the pulley clean and prevents buildup-driven slip.

Technical overview
Pulleys drive, redirect and tension the conveyor belt across the system. HBXM pulleys are available from 200 mm to 1600 mm diameter with static or vulcanized rubber lagging, and are dynamically balanced for smooth running at high belt speeds.
Why add rubber lagging to a pulley?
Lagging increases friction so the belt does not slip, protects the shell from wear, and can be grooved to shed water and mud.
