Impact Idler

缓冲(冲击)托辊

Usage

Usage

Impact (Buffer) Idler — a carrying idler with rubber- or PU-ringed rolls that absorbs the shock of material landing on the belt. It protects the belt and structure at loading points and is the simpler, cheaper alternative to a full buffer bed on moderate impacts.

Operating conditions

Operating conditions

Working temperatureAmbient service range (-20 °C to +40 °C); sealed bearings and PU or ceramic parts tolerate wider material temperatures.
Dusty environmentSuitable — labyrinth or IP65 seals keep dust out of the bearings
Moisture & waterSuitable — IP65 sealing for outdoor, port, washdown and humid duty
Corrosive environmentPowder-coated for ordinary acid or alkali · Galvanized for coastal and semi-outdoor · Stainless for high-salinity and high-humidity sites
CertificationMA coal-mine safety certified versions available — confirm the certified SKUs for your project

Technical overview

Idlers are the rotating rollers that support the conveyor belt and the bulk load traveling on it. HBXM idlers cover belt widths up to 2400 mm and trough angles of 20 deg, 35 deg or 45 deg, with multi-labyrinth sealed bearings built for continuous duty in dust, moisture and fine powder.

What is the difference between carrying and return idlers?

Carrying idlers support the loaded top strand of the belt; return idlers support the empty bottom strand on its way back to the tail.

Why use a self-aligning idler?

A self-aligning idler automatically corrects belt mistracking, reducing edge wear, spillage and unplanned downtime.

What bearing seals does HBXM use?

We use non-contact multi-labyrinth seals that keep grease in and keep dust, water and fine powder out for a long service life.

Can idlers handle high-capacity mining lines?

Yes. Our heavy-duty series is specified for mines, ports and power plants with high belt speeds, large lump sizes and continuous operation.

What are conveyor rollers?

Conveyor rollers, also called idlers, are the rotating cylinders that carry the belt and the material on it. HBXM makes them in steel, UHMW-PE, nylon and polyurethane to suit different loads, belt speeds and environments.

How much do conveyor rollers cost?

Roller price depends on diameter, length, material (steel, UHMW-PE, polyurethane) and order quantity. Send your conveyor specs — belt width, load and environment — and we will quote an exact price and lead time.

What is a polyurethane conveyor roller used for?

Polyurethane rollers resist abrasion, oils and impact better than steel and run quieter, so they suit wet, sticky or abrasive material and applications where belt marking matters.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Impact rollers or an impact bed?

Impact rollers suit moderate drops and allow material to fall through between the discs in sticky duty. Impact beds spread the load continuously and win on high drops, sharp lumps and wide belts.

What rubber compound is used?

Natural/synthetic blends selected for rebound and cut resistance, typically 60–70 Shore A. The compound matters more than the thickness for impact life.

How long do the discs last?

In coal or aggregate handling, expect 1–3 years depending on drop height and lump sharpness. Discs are replaceable.

Is a rubber-disc impact roller the same as a rubber roller?

On a conveyor, "rubber roller" usually means one of two things: the rubber-disc impact roller set at a loading point, or the rubber-lagged pulley at the drive. Both get their grip and their impact resistance from a vulcanised rubber surface rather than the steel shell under it. Our rubber rollers are moulded discs on a steel shaft in sealed TK housings, so only the rubber wears and the discs are replaceable.
