Belt cleaner

Scraper that removes carry-back from the belt's return side.

CEMA

Primary cleaner

Blade mounted at the head pulley that removes most carry-back.

Secondary cleaner

Fine blade downstream of the primary that removes the remaining fines.

Plough cleaner

V-shaped blade on the return belt that discharges material to the side.

Carry-back

Material stuck to the belt that drops off along the return run, causing build-up.

Buffer bed

Cushioned stationary support that replaces impact idlers at a transfer point.

Impact bar

UHMW / rubber bar on a buffer bed that absorbs the impact energy.

Skirt board

Sealing strip along the loading chute that stops side spillage.

Wear liner

Replaceable abrasion-resistant plate inside chutes and hoppers.

Chute

Guided transition that directs material onto the belt centre.

Dust suppression

Enclosure, seals or water / spray systems that control dust at transfer points.

Urethane cleaner blade

Blade of polyurethane, giving long life on fine, non-abrasive material.

Tungsten-carbide cleaner blade

Hard-metal-tipped blade for highly abrasive ore and clinker duty.

Ceramic cleaner blade

Ceramic-tipped blade combining wear resistance with a sharp scraping edge.

Brush cleaner

Rotating brush that sweeps fine material off the belt return side.

Air-knife cleaner

High-velocity air jet that blows residual material off the belt without contact.

Cleaner tensioner

Spring or torsion device that holds the blade against the belt at constant pressure.

Scraper blade angle

Angle of the blade to the belt; about 15–30° for effective scraping without belt damage.

Dust skirt

Flexible strip either side of the chute that traps airborne dust.

Dry-fog system

Ultra-fine water mist that agglomerates dust without wetting the material.

Spray bar

Row of nozzles that wets the belt or material to control dust.

Bag filter / dust collector

Filter that captures dust from an enclosed transfer point.

Magnetic separator

Overbelt or pulley magnet that removes tramp iron before it reaches the belt.

Metal detector

Coil that trips the conveyor when metal is detected in the material.

Chute wear plate

Replaceable plate lining the chute; ceramic, UHMW or hardened steel.
